Student Dragon Showreel
3 separate dragon animations for different states really showcase what a more experienced version on myself can accomplish.
My most recent work from my games course at university which I feel has come miles from when I first started creature animation. It's my best piece so far and I'm very excited to see where else I can take this skill.

Student highlight real
This is my first attempt at a highlight showcase, featuring a pre-rigged model using the advanced skeleton add-on. I am very proud of how this came out. This taught me a few key steps that I would continue to use in my animations going forward. I learned proper story boarding to prepare for long cinematic animations and also that not every frame has to be super in-depth such as hiding small mistakes or not even moving certain joints when they aren't shown on camera.
It is also worth noting that I have used voice lines from a character from a video game as that was part of the brief to incorporate lip sinking and audio.
Below is the animatic that I made which was part of the project.

This was my first ever time animating a creature so bear with it, some of the animations could 100% do with some more polish however for a first crack I think it went pretty well. I'm especially happy with the heavy attack animation as I used some stretch on the jaw to make it more impactful.
The lighting in this showreel is very inconsistent as I was unsure how to properly use lighting, but again everything here was the first time trying this. As someone who aspires to be a creature animator, this project was a very important step and has actually enabled me to find my style.
